Debbie joined the Greater Hartford Jaycees in 1999.  The opportunities for self-development, meeting new people and giving back to the community attracted her to the organization.  In her first few years as a member, she attended many different events and got involved with the Finance Committee of the Greater Hartford Open.  In 2002, she ran her first project called Art Appreciation, and in 2003 she was named Finance Chairman for the Greater Hartford Open.  Each year since then, Debbie has held a position on the Golf Tournament’s Executive Committee, the Foundation Board of Directors and/or the Chapter Board of Directors.   She has also been a chairman of several more projects including the Book Club.  Debbie will chair the seventh year of this project in 2008.  The Greater Hartford Jaycees have recognized Debbie with several awards.  The most prestigious of these is the Armbruster of the Year for 2007.  This award recognizes the contribution of a person who has been a member of the Jaycees for more than one year.
