2013 Grants and Mini Grants
On behalf of the Greater Hartford Jaycees Foundation, I would like to introduce our 2013 grant cycle. Administered by the Foundation Board of Directors, the 2013 grant program is an opportunity for charities to apply for program service related grants ranging from $1,000 to $3,000.

Applications must be received by March 29, 2013 via e-mail only. Any application exceeding the one page maximum will not be considered.
2013 Scholarships:
The GHJC Foundation Board has decided not to offer a 2013 scholarship cycle. We appreciate everyone's interest in the program and hope to offer a scholarship cycle in the future.

Preferences
The Greater Hartford Jaycees Foundation gives preference to funding the following types of proposals:
- Programs which promote economic and/or social self-sufficiency;
- Programs with targeted goals and measurable results that can be used to gauge the success of the program;
- Programs which provide opportunities for collaborations with other grant giving organizations to increase the impact of a program;
- Specific direct service activities or specific capital expenditures.
Funding Limitations
Due to tax law limitations and funding constraints, the Foundation is unable to provide funding for the following:
- Individuals;
- Organizations not designated 501(c) tax exempt organizations by the IRS unless they are entities that are federal, state, or municipal agencies supported by taxation;
- Organizations other than Connecticut not-for-profit corporations unless they are entities that are federal, state, or municipal agencies supported by taxation;
- Organizations which remit 30% or more of their annual revenues/contributions to an affiliated national organization;
- Medical Research;
- Capital campaigns in excess of $1 million;
- Private schools, except those programs that directly benefit the people in need as defined in our mission statement;
- Political activities;
- Religious organizations for religious purposes;
- Fundraising events, equipment, or staff;
- Construction/equipment for playscapes;
- Endowment funds;
- Repayment of loans or reimbursement of expenses already incurred;
- Sponsorship of sporting events or conferences;
- Programs which do not specifically help the disadvantaged, elderly, youth, or disabled;
- Computers or related expenses;
- Organizations which have received Greater Hartford Jaycees Foundation, Inc. grants three times within ten fiscal years;
- Funding for agencies supported by taxation is limited to enrichment programs and services.
